Utah DEM has supported various programs over the years. Some have completed their missions. Others have been renamed. We created this page as a sort of rudimentary encyclopedia of our former programs with links to what they are now.
CSEPP
The Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) was designed to protect the community surrounding the Deseret Chemical Depot (located in Tooele County) through training, specialized equipment and public outreach. While the likelihood that an incident at the depot would affect the surrounding community was very low, CSEPP was ready just in case. Over its 21 years in existence, CSEPP spent millions of dollars toward a more prepared Utah.
