Utah Search and Rescue Financial Assistance Program

The Utah Search and Rescue Financial Assistance Program provides reimbursement to sheriffs’ search and rescue teams for operations, training and equipment purchases. The Utah Division of Emergency Management supports the Search and Rescue Advisory Board in administering this program.

Utah Search and Rescue Assistance (USARA) Card

The USARA card allows backcountry recreationists to contribute to search and rescue efforts. It is available to purchase at Rescue.Utah.gov

The revenue from the USARA card goes directly to reimbursing sheriff’s search and rescue teams.

Reports: From 1997 to 2017, the Utah Search and Rescue Advisory Board published an annual report detailing the numbers of reported rescues, amounts reimbursed to local sheriff’s offices, reported search and rescue hours worked, and much more.
