Disaster Grants
The purpose of disaster grants are to provide assistance to State, tribal and local governments, and certain types of private non-profit organizations, so that communities can quickly respond to and recover from major disasters and emergencies. These grants may be available, but only after the president of the United States has declared a major disaster and authorized the grants.
